Homemade Crunchy Peanut Butter

There is something really satisfying about making homemade nut butter. You have complete control over what goes into it, its texture and its flavour. It is actually quite expensive buying natural, additive free nut butters, so why not make your own! They are extremely quick and easy to make, and taste exactly how you like! Personally, I prefer mine to be a little bit salty, to add a bit of a kick and break up the richness of the nuts. I made this peanut butter for my Vegan Peanut Butter Chocolate Cheesecake, but this can happily be spread over toast, used for a Peanut Dipping Sauce, added into cookies or even eaten straight off the spoon! It stores really well and is stuffed full of antioxidants that keep your heart healthy, making it a nutritious and inexpensive staple for your cupboard. 

You will need:

500g peanuts, roasted
pinch of sea salt

Add 350g of the peanuts to a food processor and blitz until a smooth butter forms. Add in the remaining peanuts, pulse a few times then spoon into a jar. Enjoy!
